My internet is slow so the client occasionally gives me a timeout error when trying to download a modpack. Once you get the client set up, it seems like it'd be easy, right? Just go to mods tab and click install on the one you want. I've had a lot of trouble finding info on modpacks and how to get them working. If this is in the wrong place let me know and I'll move it.
